Find the Perfect Red Lip for the Holidays
One of the major beauty trends of 2011 has been bright or bold lips. I've seen celebrities wear everything from neon pink to vampy plum colors on their lips, but you don't have to pick an extreme color to wear this trend. You can go a more classic route and wear a nice red lipcolor.
Red is a color that definitely makes a statement, but it's also a color that anyone can wear. There are many shades of red to choose from, so picking the perfect shade for you may seem like an impossible task. While watching The Rachel Zoe Project this season, I noticed Rachel Zoe wearing an all black ensemble with a gold necklace that really caught my eye. The necklace was a simple bib necklace, but it definitely made a statement. After doing a little internet searching, I found the exact necklace in Rachel's line of accessories for QVC. I think this necklace is so chic, and it would look great with almost anything. You could go for a more dressy look with a little black dress, or you could wear it more casual with a blouse and jeans. Colored Denim and Polka Dots
Colored denim is one of fall's biggest trends, and this season you will be able find denim in almost any color of the rainbow. Wearing a bright pink pair of pants is kind of intimidating, so I would try wearing a color like olive green or teal first. Another trend for fall is polka dots. You'll see this trend in dresses, tops and accessories.
I got the idea to combine these two trends from a girl I saw at Corner Bakery one morning. She was wearing a flowy polka dot blouse with a pair of teal skinny jeans. She looked cute and comfortable at the same time. You can wear this outfit with a pair of simple black flats during the day, or you can pair it with some nice black platfroms for a night out.

Summer Favorites
Fall is approaching, but summer isn't over yet, so I thought I'd share with you some of my favorites for the season.
My favorite flip flops this summer have been by TKEES. They come in tons of colors and they are incredibly comfortable. They are pretty pricey at $45, but I was able to buy them at a cheaper price from Rue La La. If you happen to see them on there, be sure to scoop them up.
My next favorite is a new pair of sunglasses. I've always liked Ray Ban Wayfarers, but I just didn't think they were right for me. Well, while browsing through South Moon Under a couple weeks ago, I noticed the Ray Ban New Wayfarer sunglasses. I tried them on just for fun and I ended up really liking them. They have smaller frames than the original wayfarers, which happens to be more flattering for my face. I got them in tortoise but they also come in black.
Lately, I've also been wearing a couple of my bracelets stacked together. The three bracelets that I've been wearing the most often are the Vintage Twist bracelet, the Revival bracelet*, and the Nugget Wrap bracelets from Stella & Dot. I've written about these bracelets before, and they are still a staple in my wardrobe.
My next favorite was a birthday gift from my mother back in April. It's my Rose Gold Michael Kors watch. I love watches and own many of them, but this one has been my favorite for the spring and summer months. I love the rose color and I wear it with everything.

Wedding Look # 2: Beach Wedding
In my last post, I shared with you a couple ways to wear a lbd to a summer wedding. In this post, I'd like to show you some looks to wear to a beach wedding. One thing to keep in mind when dressing for a beach wedding is to choose a dress that is in a lightweight, flowy fabric. I would also choose something in a fun, bright color and pair it with gold accessories. Also, I would leave the heels at home, because you don't want your heels to be sinking in the sand. Instead, wear a pair of metallic flat sandals, or maybe even wedges.

Wedding Look #1: The Little Black Dress
Summer can be a busy time of year, and if you're like me, there will be many weddings to attend this summer. It can be hard to pick an outfit to wear to these summer weddings, so I thought I would post a couple looks to help you out. First, I would like to start with something that you can find in your own closet, the little black dress.

Most women own a little black dress because it's the perfect blank slate. You can achieve different looks with a single dress just by changing your accessories.
If you're looking for a fun look, take your basic black dress and add coral strappy sandals for a pop of color. Next, add a sleek gold clutch and a pair of jeweled earrings and you're all set to celebrate.

Summer Trend: Striped Maxi Dresses
Summer is almost here and one of my favorite things to wear during the summer is a maxi dress. I normally wear maxi dresses in solid colors or floral prints, like this one from Free People, but lately I've really been loving striped maxi dresses. Maxi dresses are perfect for summer barbecues or for running around town. You can wear them with flat gladiator sandals or comfortable wedge sandals. You can also add a cute denim jacket if it gets a little chilly.

Get the Look: Kim Kardashian

Lately I've been loving rompers for the warmer weather. They are very comfortable and easy to dress up for a night on the town, or dress down for a day at the beach. Kim Kardashian recently wore a strapless romper while out and about in Miami. She used a belt to accentuate her waist and added a pair of platform cork sandals and an orange clutch for a pop of color.

Fashion Event: South Moon Under Grand Opening
Last Thursday I attended the Grand Opening of South Moon Under's newest location in Fairfax, Virginia. They had a Cinco de Mayo themed event that included festive food, drinks and decorations. Shoppers were given a 20% discount on their purchases during the event and they were also given a chance to win many prizes throughout the night. It was a great event and I was able to score a couple of items that will be great for Spring and Summer.

The store had a great selection of clothing that will be great for the upcoming Summer season. One of my favorites is this cute Charlie Jade romper.
